About Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been in established since the college started in year 2009. Department is affiliated to JNTUGV Vizianagaram since 2022 and approved by AICTE New Delhi. The Department is proud to have a vibrant student fraternity who pursue Undergraduate and Post-graduate courses. The annual intake of students is 60+12 in the undergraduate course and 18 in Post graduate course.  The Department has facilities in terms of faculty, infrastructure and equipment. The Department has a team of diversely qualified faculty of 14 including Professors,   Associate Professors and Assistant Professors, who aims at delivering quality lectures that blends with their rich research experience.
Numerous research papers have been published in National and International Journals and Conferences. The Department arranges guest lectures by eminent professors from reputed institutions and experts from industry to bridge the gap between academics and industry. Faculty members are encouraged to improve their academic qualification and to gain experience by attending FDPs, workshops, conferences etc. They are also encouraged to present research papers at workshops and conferences, and to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

The Department promotes active industry-institute collaboration by organizing workshops and by taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services. Visits to the industries for faculty and students are frequently arranged to enhance the practical exposure with the real corporate world. Department also organizes programmers like Alumni interaction sessions with current students and make them familiar with specific market requirements and demands.

Mechanical engineering department was established in the year 2009.The department is offering four year B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) with an intake of 60 students during year 2009. The department also started PG Programme in the specialization “Thermal Engineering” from year 2014 with an intake of 18 students. The strength of the department lies with dedicated and enthusiastic staff and most of them are well qualified from reputed institutions with different specialization and experienced. The faculty is focused towards inculcating technical creativity in the students along with theoretical as well as practical knowledge. The excellent facilities are available to achieve this aim.
The department is having well equipped laboratories and provides excellent facilities for gaining practical knowledge. The main beauty of the department is that, each one of the student will undergo Summer Internships during II, III and IV year at different core industries to get practical exposure along with theoretical knowledge

 

Scope

Mechanical Engineers are required in all manufacturing facilities. The working criteria of a mechanical engineer changes according to the type and domain of the company they are working with and the area of specialization. In a broader sense it can be said that mechanical engineer works on design and control of a system that goes into the process of manufacturing the machinery and product. He tests new systems for feasibility and efficiency and carries out quality management and improvement process.
There is tremendous scope for mechanical engineers in automobile engineering, cement industry, steel, power sector, hydraulics, manufacturing plants, drilling and mining industry, petroleum, aeronautical, biotechnology and many more. Nowadays they are also increasingly needed in the environmental and bio-medical fields.
A beginner in Mechanical Engineering can opt for various job openings such as: Maintenance Engineer, safety Engineer, Quality Assurance, CNC Programmer, Jr. Engineer, Design Engineer, CAD/CAM Trainer, Production Supervisor/Engineer, R&D Trainee etc.
