DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Civil Engineering Department of SVCET was established in 2014 with an intake of 60.The department is currently offering B.Tech in Civil engineering. The Civil Engineering Department has the state of art infrastructure with well equipped labs, computer center spread in an area of 500 sq.m. They are supported by experienced and qualified faculty. The laboratory facilities are available in all subject areas of Civil Engineering such as Engineering Geology, Environmental Engineering. Computer aided analysis and design, surveying, Geo-Technical Engineering, concrete and Highway Engineering, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics Machinery.

The Department is equipped with software such as STAAD-pro, In addition to the regular curriculum, the department is offering add on courses on communication skills for enriching the competitive knowledge of the students and preparing them for better employability. Students were also engaged in the projects works which demands the needs of social body in the surrounding situations as well as in the research projects.

HOD Message

The Civil Engineering Department of SVCET established a decade ago aims at developing analytical and experimental skills in students to apply in various fields of Civil Engineering. Department of Civil encourages its students to participate in various events for their overall growth. Apart from this the department provides students an opportunity to improve communication and presentation skills, knowledge of software like Auto CAD, STAAD PRO, E-TABS, Arc GIS, Rivet Architecture, Microsoft Project Management (MSP), and Primavera. As a part of curriculum and beyond curriculum the student undergo Industrial Training and participate in live construction sites to gain practical knowledge and understanding of the field constraints. Further students will take up Project works and perform various designs and detailing of structures in site. The Civil Department has well-qualified and experienced teaching faculty who are enthusiastic about providing students with quality instruction. The primary goal is to instil subject fundamentals through different pedagogical aspects namely, animation, video clips, projects, field surveys, and case studies. Students are trained to make and meet SMART goals and thus promoting students to maximize their Civil Engineering Potential. To support this, department has well-equipped laboratories, computational facilities, and modern classrooms, as well as a conducive learning environment and its own library, which houses a large collection of high-quality reference books and journals.

Our Alumni students are well settled in various Govt. and Private sectors. Few alumni are pursuing their higher education in reputed institutes.
